Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & ClintonTownship MI Area Robert R. Crampton, 78, of Clinton Twp, MI formerly a 56 year resident of Clawson, MI died February 5, 2015 at home. Robert is a Veteran of the US Army and was employed by Parker Hannifin for 17 years until retiring in July 2001. Bob was a very passionate man with many interests but the passions that stood out for the last 56 years and will continue as his legacy are first and foremost his wife Nancy and his children Cindy, Lester, and Bryan, each with their own uniqueness that Bob loved and embraced. As time rolled on his passions didn't change but only grew larger to include his 16 grand children Heather, Steven, Leslie, Laura, Kayla, Zach, Lindzy, Anne, Michael, Bridget, Cindy, Amber, Michael, Emily, Joy and Cameron, and his great grandchildren: Kira, Lucas, Alicia, Dalton, Liam, and Landon. Some of the things that defined Bob: His smile; Bob had an infectious smile that in turn made you smile as well. His passion for family was how he lived his life and more often then not made him the life of the party as well. He loved to joke and tease and absolutely cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Bob was a man that never met a stranger because you became his friend at introduction. A particular defining moment beyond his marriage, children and grand children was about 24 years ago when he accepted Jesus into his life. His walk started then and his faith continued to grow till the 5th of February when he went to be with his Lord. So we can securely say that Bob's life here is done but the rest of his life has only begun. He loved music, both listening to and playing it. Never having had formal instruction Bob had the gift of picking up any instrument and in short time play it. He leaned towards country music but also loved to hear the Salvation Army band play. He enjoyed square dancing and could do it well. He enjoyed playing cards and board games and had a bit of a competitive nature but always in good fun. He loved his Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Wolverines, rarely missing any Michigan games. The people that always made Bob smile were of course his wife, kids, grand and great grand kids and his friends and even his son and daughters in laws. He had many close friends and each of you knows who you are because he always let you know you were. The "things" that made him smile were Michigan football and a clean car (Bob clean that is). Being the writer I get to have the last word and that is Bob your are loved, and you are missed and you will always hold a very special place in my heart! On June 15, 1957 in LaPort, MI Robert married the love of his life Nancy Bryan. They had three children; Cynthia (Michael) Kneisler, Lester (Paula) and Bryan (Nancy). Robert is survived by his wife, children, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his siblings Daniel (Pam), Major John (Midge) and Beth McCool.
