Robert Clark Bouse Jr.

Robert Clark Bouse Jr., a resident of Clawson for most of his adult life, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 88 years old. Robert was born to his parents Robert Clark and Margaret Blanch (maiden name: Rawling) Sr. on August 30, 1932 in Detroit. He attended Barnum High School in Birmingham and enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation, honorably serving his country. Robert began working as a lineman for Detroit Edison before moving to the Royal oak office and becoming a power dispatcher. He was a hard-working man who would do anything for his family. Aside from his work, Robert also engaged with his community as a volunteer Clawson firefighter. Robert married the love of his life, Barbara Ann, on February 21, 1953 in Birmingham. The couple settled in Clawson where they have raised their family and enjoyed over 68 years of marriage together. Robert retired from Detroit Edison in 1988 after a 43 year career. His pastimes included listening to the police and fire radio and smoking his pipe. But most of all, Robert loved spending time with his family. He was a simple man who enjoyed spending time at home with them when he was not working. Everything he did was for his family. Robert will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Bouse; children, Robin Bouse, Patricia Ann (Sandy), and Jon Bouse; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers George Bouse and James Bouse. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Bouse. Roberts wish to donate his body to Wayne State University for teaching and research will be honored. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017; (248) 435-9010.
