Luetta Margaret Brough

Luetta Margaret Brough left us peacefully in her home on June 7, 2024 at the age of 90. Luetta was born August 10, 1933, in Mancelona, Michigan, to her parents Gordon & Violet (Weiss) Wiggins. In 1936, the family moved to Washington, Michigan. Luetta graduated from Romeo High School in 1952. On June 27, 1953, she married the love of her life, Donald F. Brough, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washington, Michigan. Luetta worked for Kelly Services as a secretary until she started to work for her father at the Dairy Queen located in Richmond, Michigan. Ten years later, she bought the business and ran it for an additional ten years until she retired. She and her husband belonged to the Tins & Skins Camping group for many years, and she loved to travel. Together, they started "Don & Lous Crafts" where they traveled to craft shows selling their wood crafts that they made. Luetta was a devoted member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washington. She was the head of the Alter Guild, played Mrs. Claus for Little Lambs Preschool, and volunteered whenever she was needed. For many years, Luetta made the donuts at Verellen Orchards. Luetta was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and recently became a great-great grandma. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Denise) Brough of Shelby Township; three daughters, Cynthia Brough of Romeo, Terry (Paul) Herbert of Owosso, and Carol (Michael) Hendrickson of Macomb; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; five sisters, and two brothers. Luetta was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brough; infant daughter, Sandra Brough; parents, Gordon and Violet (Weiss) Wiggins; one sister, Catherine (Wiggins) Wolf; and two brothers, Gordon Wiggins and Jack Wiggins. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, June 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel, located at 48271 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, Michigan 48317. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Luettas life will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 8600 27 Mile Road, Washington, Michigan 48094. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Shelby Township, Michigan. Luncheon will follow at Our Redeemer Church. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make contributions in memory of Luetta may do so to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
